Get your Digivices ready as you are about to see Digimon’s latest transforming figure – the Digivolving Spirits WarGreymon! I remember getting my first Digivolving figure when I was 13 and that was ExV-mon and the Stingmon figure that transforms into Paildramon which I find very cool at that time.
Bandai is back with its transformable figures and they are re-doing the earlier released Digivolving figures.
This review will be featuring the first Digivolving Spirits figure, 01 WarGreymon. Visit GreatToys Online and check our their stores and online store and get great deals on toys and figures!
The first formation out of the box is the WarGreymon figure.
Important Note: Before you try to transform the figure to its Agumon form, remember to read the supplied manual first so you wont be confused.
I like how they added small elements in the box art like the Digimon Crest for Agumon, I’m sure fans would notice this upon opening the box.
Most parts of the figures appear very accurate with the anime version – the way they hid some of the parts were very clever – I really liked how they hid Agumon’s hands over the WarGreymon figure.
Paint apps for this figure is also very neatly done. I liked how they painted the die-cast parts because it doesn’t feel very off when you look at the figure as a whole.
For the transformation, Agumon’s figure version is just okay given all the details that needs to be present for the WarGreymo figure although Agumon lacks the neck in this Digivolving Spirits figure – which makes it appear that his shoulders are higher than usual.
What I really liked about the set would be the articulation of the figure. Given that there would be limitations in poses because of the way they tried to make both the Rookie and Ultimate forms be very seamless in one figure – I’d say that they really did their best and did not compromise most of the figure’s articulation.
If you’re transforming the figure from WarGreymon to Agumon – make sure to be careful and make sure not to force the parts to avoid strain or breakage from the plastic joints or connectors. If there would be parts that would be taken out of the ball joints – you can look at the etched letters of either R or L which will indicate where the part would be placed.
I highly recommend this line if you’re a Digimon fan especially if you want to relieve the glory days of your childhood. If you’re concerned about the future releases, I’d say you shouldn’t have to worry because I think they would be producing more Digivolving figures very soon – in fact, they’ve already announced 5 more figures for this line.
You’ll also see the next figure up for release in the box art of this first Digivolving Spirits figure – Metal Garurumon!
